2007 LHS Captains Selected
The LHS varsity football team selected their captains for the 2007 football season.  After a vote by the team, four captains were selected to be the leaders on the field, sidelines, and locker room.

The 2007 Captains are:

Michael Angle
Angle, a two-year letterman and starter at quarterback, enters 2007 with a 12-0 mark as a starter in SEOAL games.  The Chieftains have compild back to back 8-2 seasons with Michael under center and last fall he tied a school record for tossing only two interceptions all season long.  His poise in the huddle led Logan to come from behind wins against Zanesville, Pickerington North, and Gallia Academy in 2005 and Zanesville and Gallia Academy in 2006.
Justin Frye
Justin burst on to the scene last year in his only season of Varsity football and nearly eclipsed the LHS single season rushing record.  He rushed for 1630 yards on 234 carries and 22 touchdowns last fall.  More amazingly, he didn't get his first start until week 4 and missed the Ironton game with an ankle injury.  A popular player among his teammates, Frye has put on over 20 pounds during the off-season and hasn't lost a bit of his speed.

Mark Potter
Potter is also a two-year letterman and starter at linebacker where he recorded over 100 tackles last fall. Last fall he also started at fullback where he averaged over 5 yards per carry and was second on the team in receiving.  Mark has been an emotional spark plug for the purple and white since taking the field as a sophomore and has bulked up to 215 pounds for this season.
Lucas Wright
Lucas has been a two-way starter for two years at receiver and safety.  In addition, Luke has led the team in receiving the past two seasons and has shown an uncanny ability to find the endzone when he gets the ball in the endzone.  He also is one of the best safeties in all of southeast Ohio, especially when the football is in the air as evidenced by his 9 career interceptions.
