LoganFootball.com's Look at Chieftain Graduates Still on the Gridiron (Week 2, Sept. 3-10)


There are currently 7 LHS grads continuing their careers at the collegiate level.  This fall, LF.com hopes to keep track of these seven players each week.  Here is the week 2 edition.



Joey Conrad, Class of 2001 (Glenville (WV) State College)
Conrad led Glenville State to a season opening WVIAC win Saturday, as the Pioneers topped the University of Charleston 19-14.  It was a solid road victory for the Pioneers.

Joey completed 21 of 27 passes for 315 yards.  Conrad connected for touchdowns passes of 26 and 81 yards.  Conrad was intercepted only once.  Conrad leads the WVIAC in passing, having thrown for 808 yards and 8 touchdowns with only 2 INTs in the seasons first 3 weeks.

The Pioneers return home this Saturday (Sept. 17) and will face WVIAC opponent Shepherd.  Kick-Off is slated for 1:00 PM.


Jesse Henestofel, Class of 2001 and Jason Dicken, Class of 2003 (Muskingum College)
The Muskies had the weekend off.  They will travel to Wilmington this weekend for a game with the Quakers.  Kick-Off is slated for 1:30.


Derek Harden, Class of 2002 (The Ohio State University)
Harden and the Buckeyes lost to #2 Texas in a  25-22 heartbreaker.  Harden did not see the field for Ohio State.  The Buckeyes will host San Diego State ay 3:30 this saturday.


Matt Mong, Class of 2002 (University of Dayton)
The Flyers flew past Wittenberg on Saturday, moving to 2-0 on the season.  Matt Mong carried the ball 4 times for 6 yards in the win.

The Flyers will host Austin-Peay this Saturday at 1:00 PM at Welcome Stadium.


Justin Pack, Class of 2005 (Ohio Dominican University)
The Panther dropped their record to 1-1 on the season, falling 35-17 at the hands of Walsh.  Pack did not play for the Panthers.  ODU will play at Seton Hill and against former Jackson High School star Tackle Walter Miller.  Kick-Off is slated for 1:00 PM.


Corey Spackey, Class of 2005 (College of Mount St Josephs (Cincinnati, OH)
Look for Corey to contribute on the CMSJ JV team during the 2005 season as he works toward earning playing time for the Lions in 2006.
