Derek Harden walks-on at The Ohio State University

Former LHS running back Derek Harden (Class of 2002) walked on to the football team at The Ohio State University this last week. Harden participated in open try-outs, and was selected for as a walk-on.

Harden was a varsity player for the Chieftains from 1999-2001, during that span his teams went an astounding 31-4, including 21-0 in SEOAL play. Harden played at both Running Back and Linebacker. During his career Harden amassed 3083 yards on 524 carries and a school record 50 career touchdowns. The yards rank 3rd all-time for a career and the carries second. During the 2000 season Harden set the single season rushing record with 1670 yards rushing.
