The Chieftains held their second annual Purple and White game at Bill Sauer Field this morning. The white team held off the purple team 7-6.

Justin Coakley was the stand out on the white team, he got the bulk of the carries on offense and was a force in the middle on defense. Justin Pack (white) and Kevin Call (purple) both were solid at tailback and linebacker.

Corey Spackey (purple) made some good throws, including a long TD pass to TE Jake Wolfe. That score amounted to the only purple score, and the extra point failed due to a bad snap.

The white team struggled early, but when BJ Hughes replaced Sophomore Kyle Swaim at QB the white team finally started moving the football. Some nice ball carrying by Coakley and Pack got Logan near the goal line, and BJ Hughes ran a QB sweep around right end for the TD. Junior Alex Hubbard booted the extra point.

The purple team put together a couple of nice drives later in the scrimmage, but penalties slowed them down. The white team also was able to make atleast one other substantial drive, however penalties halted the action.

The Chiefs have 49 players on the Varsity roster and looked to be in good condition and pretty much injury free.
