1957 - Logan at Lancaster (North Field, Lancaster, OH)
The 1957 Chieftains opened their season under a new head coach, the legendary Mel Adams. Adams would go on to win three SEOAL championships and would finish as the school's all-time leader in wins, a record that would stand until it was broken by Dale Amyx. It wouldn't be a happy debut for Adams, as the Gales coasted to a 47-7 victory. It would be the last meeting between Logan and Lancaster until 2004. This film shows most of the fourth quarter, including Lancaster's final two touchdowns. Logan's touchdown, a 59-yard run by Lynn Strait, is missing from the tape. This video came from 1959 LHS grad Carl Gaffin. A special thanks to Carl for sharing! |
