Chiefs up one spot to No. 7 in state Associated Press poll

Logan (6-0) is now No. 7 in Division II in the weekly poll of a state panel of statewide sportswriters and broadcasters.
It’s been a steady poll climb for the Chiefs, who were No. 15 in the season’s first poll three weeks ago, No. 12 two weeks back and No. 8 last week.
With Shadyside only having won one game, the Chiefs are likely to slip a bit in the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s Division II Region 5 computer ratings.
Projections have Logan being tied with Licking Heights for second place, behind undefeated (6-0) Worthington Kilbourne.
The Chiefs are slated to host Jackson (5-1) in a big Southeastern Ohio Athletic League game Friday night in Logan Chieftain Stadium, with a huge number of playoff points on the line for both teams.
Columbus DeSales (5-1), whom the Chiefs play next week, improved to No. 9 in the Division III poll. The Stallions’ only loss was to Lancaster, which is now ranked fourth in Division I.
