Dublin Jerome routs Chiefs in opener, 58-0
LOGAN — It was a record-setting night in Logan Chieftain Stadium… but, for Chieftain Nation, it was for all the wrong reasons.
Visiting Dublin Jerome scored touchdowns on seven of its first 12 plays from scrimmage, threw 51 points on the scoreboard in the first half and routed the Logan Chieftains 58-0 in the season football opener for both teams Friday night.
The Celtics took full advantage of a young, inexperienced Logan team to score early and often… and it could have been worse. The entire second half was played with a running clock due to the 30-point-differential rule, and when Jerome had the ball the Celtics took their time before actually running an offensive play.
